Iowa 2015

Okay - going to try this again - and it has been a long time.  In Des Moines there was a park that contained many sculptures - Thought I would share these with you.

The first is LETTERHEAD  (my name)

I don't know the real story but, if you look at the front view, it looks like there is a smaller figure there - perhaps a teacher sharing 'letters' with a student - that is my interpretation anyway.

Also, I am a train fanatic -

Here in Council Bluffs we visited

.ANYWAY - this is an attempt to share pics and stuff in a larger quantity than on FACEBOOK - not sure if it will work but I am going to try  Let me know if it still works - haven't used it since 2012

- took a two day and a single day motorcycle trip

 - took a four day visit to Massachusetts and had a "whale of a time"!

- dropped off the Miata for a week long visit with a race Car Prep shop (run by a friend who preps Miatas for racing !!) -

visited the Lower Hudson River Valley

a tugboat

and a couple of it's lighthouses-

visited The Hudson Valley Fireman's Museum

and visited with Kevin, of course and, now we are ready to commence our westward journey.

OK - I must apologize to everyone who was waiting for pictures of out Natchez Trace Trip - we have been having so much fun that I have been too tired to post stuff. We have passed the 300 mile mark so have only about 120 miles to go - the weather has been fantastic, people have been so friendly and the scenery is great !! MK & I continue to fine the 'unusual' to visit or tour - today it was the 'Coondog Cemetary'.

I will get photos up when we get home next week . . . probably . . . maybe ??

'GOOD NIGHT IRENE' - - wow, that was something else - RAIN - steady and pounding - but we were glad that Kevin's house is definitely above any flood plain ( so is the storage unit where we have 'stuff').
The village that Kevin lives in is named Wappingers Falls - the falls are really kind of a joke - a creek flowing over some rocks - - - OH YEAH ???
That tree sure looks surprised - where did the creek go?
But everything was good here so we are busy making our plans for our upcoming motorcycle trip - we are going down to Natchez, MS and then traveling back up the Natchez Trace. We will be uploading everything on Friday and this is what we'll look like on Saturday . . .
There should be some good shots along our route - I will have MK's netbook so I will be able to update regularly - not sure if I will be posting on my picture site yet - after we return we'll be packing up and heading South so they may be delayed.

MK & I are enjoying our "down time' here in the Lancaster area of PA.

We toured the Turkey Hill Experience -

MILK MAID MKS:    ?????

yeah, they do make good ice cream too !!
As one of the 'projects', guests are supposed to design their own idea of an ice cream flavor and then design a package: here is MK's

We played some golf;
went to Intercourse;
got canned;

twisted

and relaxed.

OTR - again!  This has been a busy - VERY BUSY summer for Mary K and Me. We left Florida in early June so that we could get up to our townhouse in PA. We needed to get it ready for the realtors since we have decided that it is no longer where we wish to reside. Our plans of traveling during the Winter months was ok - right up until we realized that almost everything "closes' or is 'open with restricted hours' !  So the "NEW" plan is Florida and then travel during the Summer.
Here it is, the middle of August - we took a 3 day visit to Newport, RI with our friends Doug & Audrey (the picture is of the pretty one of the pair) and are now camping over in Lancaster, PA. There is a tentative offer on the house (I will consider it 'firm' when I have the cash !!) and our motorcycle trip is scheduled for the first two weeks of September

I am planning to use this site more often to get pictures of our adventures posted - please stand by   :)

From mid-February to mid-March we are extremely busy - first with the theater group and the annual play and then comes SPRINGFEST, a celebration of daily activities which will culminate with the 'Golf Tournament Formerly Known As Pigfest' (they used to actually roast a pig but now it is 'pulled pork sandwiches).
I thought that PIGFEST was appropriate especially when taking into consideration one of our plays - '12 Angry Pigs' - I found it online. Mary K. directed and appeared as Pig #1, while I chose Pig #4 as a role that I would take. Not to 'hog' the limelight but I think our play was great!!
