Somehow this really isn't exactly what we planned - this is work and y'all know I don't much care for that word !! Cleaning & closing up one home, packing the motor home, traveling, unpacking the motor home, opening up, cleaning and prepping the other home.
At least I did get to ride the motorcycle yesterday to run some errands AND the Verizon MiFi setup is working well here. We have some BB friends coming for a visit in a few days and, of course, we need to begin serious preparation for our upcoming motorcycle trip to Michigan's UP. Glad that I am retired - otherwise I'd be too tired to enjoy all this shi#.....

Honey Duz
Honey Do List - - - Mary never even got it started - the first thing she did was turn on the water to the kitchen sink and there was an instant flood - water pouring out of the faucet (unfortunately not from the spigot). This AM we headed out to Lowe's where we bought a new sink faucet - but while there I spotted a 'faucet repair kit' - so I bought it as well - it was 1/4th the cost of the new faucet - took it home, installed it and VOILA good as new!
Then turned on the garbage disposal - NOPE - it was seized. Looked down in (among the stuff we had put down in already) and saw a nut - figured it was used to attach the grinding part to the motor shaft - got out my socket set with the long extension, gave it some pressure and BINGO - it moved!! Put a few more turn into is and then pulled the socket out, flipped the switch and, yep, it worked !!!
OK, so now I am 2 for 2 ! Here in PA we had cable TV throughout the house but now we had only one TV hooked up to the satellite dish and that was in the living room - MK would like to have the TV working upstairs as well - - - there is a second lead coming inn from the dish - - can I figure out which lead goes to the bedroom (of the 7 going out from the panel) and hook a line to it from the basement and put our second box from the Motor Home up there????? YEP !!!
WHAT A DAY 3 for 3 !!!! We even discovered that in the 10 months we've been away from PA that they built several new restaurants - - we ate at the new Indian place - - - great food !!!!
So, I guess I won't even bother to get out of bed tomorrow - - it can only get worse !!!

Home Again!
Another safe trip - not without some Motor Home problems but all is well and it is almost unpacked. It will go into the storage yard today - at least for a few weeks !! Then we'll be off again! Say, I think I see a motorcycle in that garage (actually there are two - Kevin stored one in here all winter )

It is all coming together
Guess it is just about time - motor home is here and half packed - we'll finish tomorrow - take care of the golf cart and MK's Subaru - we'll be pulling out on Saturday morning.
I keep forgetting how big the darn thing is - until I see it compared to our house! Guess it won't fit under the carport.

Sometimes the plan works !!
In just about 6 hours the roofing crew had the old aluminum roof off and the new 'rubber roof' in place and they were gone !!! We now have double the insulation and a bright, white roof.

Old aluminum 'pans' coming off

a trailer load of styrofoam insulation
lots of insulation under the roof !
a view from on top - our roof is nice and white!
in the back left you can see a house with the 'pan' roof
These are the old aluminum 'pans' - look at the roof vent just waiting to leak!
now, instead of ridges we have a smooth roof.
Tomorrow we bring the Motor Home out of storage
and begin packing for the journey North.

OK – let’s see – a few random things: June 6th
.
1) We are still here in Florida
2) Mary K has cleared her email – to some that may not seem like news – trust me, it is !
3) One of the reasons for thing #2 – we are using Verizon ‘MiFi’ – blatant commercial here – this is a great setup if you are using cell phones only – it lets me ‘hook up’ 5 wireless devices on one ‘household’ WiFi type account – (I’m my own “Hotspot”!) – so MK has her own computer up and running !! and it is easily portable (unit is the size of a deck of cards.
4) If you find you need to cut a piece of Styrofoam to a particular shape – use a hacksaw blade as a ‘knife’ (take it out of the holder and use a sawing/slicing motion) – that is how I cut the foam I use to cover my skylights and windows.
So, all our stuff is packed up, ready to load into the MH as soon as the roofers get us covered.

Good thing we waited
OK - we didn't plan it but at least we are here for the invasion! Our alien plant in the front yard has connected with the fleet and they have landed !! However, they chose to land in someone else's yard - -

Oh no don't let the rain come down ...
Plans change - - - just a life update - - -
We are not leaving our great Florida home on Friday.
Last night’s rain showed us some roof leakage –
Luckily not in the main portion of the house –
But our newly redone porch and my shed - - -
Also on the ‘lucky front’ – we did not pack the MH
Everything is still in the spare bedroom ready to go.
AND – it sure is a nice place to be stuck!!!
I didn’t pack away the golf clubs yet either !! We did switch our mail back North - but luckily most of the bills are done electronically now - we're just missing out on all of the 'Casino Offers' !! Roofers we used on the other place will be coming to give advice and an estimate - - - guess we better skip the casinos anyway . . . thinking of Morton's Salt Ad: "When it rains, it pours."
